There are an amazing group of women here at retreat that are working on this project TOGETHER –and donating the completed quilt to Quilts of Valor.
When I found this out, I was very excited, and heart-touched that these women would use their precious retreat time ((That we all know doesn’t come around often enough..not NEARLY)) to make a quilt to be gifted to someone that they personally do not know.
We all know that many hands make lighter work, and we were all inspired to keep sewing by watching their project grow, seemingly overnight!
At first there were a few stars…
And before we knew it blocks were sewn into rows….
And rows were being joined together!
By late evening last night….we had a reveal:
Quilt Center Done!! WOW!
These ladies did awesome work, and I know it isn’t easy to have three or more people working on a project and having the blocks turn out the same size and fit.
We started the class by measuring units and making sure all units were the same size so that they WOULD fit, no matter which machine they were sewn on.
This beauty just needs borders…some quilting….some binding…a label…and it will be off to greatly thank some unknown soldier for the job he/she has done.
Thank you Ladies!
There are other quilts to share, other color ways coming along just as well. I’ve uploaded them into a slide show below for your enjoyment!
