The "Acrylic Distress Technique" helps you elevate the look of your embossed paper even further, allowing you to create a vintage, weathered effect in minutes! And the acrylic distress technique is easy to learn. Here are the steps:

Supplies Needed:
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Cardstock
  • Paintbrush
  • Sanding Block
  • Textured Impressions Folder
  • Big Shot Machine
Step 1:

Using a piece of cardstock, paint the whole piece using a paintbrush and acrylic paints. In my sample I used Whisper White Cardstock and pink acrylic paint.

Step 2:

Wait patiently for the paint to dry!

Step 3:

Emboss your cardstock piece using your Big Shot Machine and an embossing folder. In my sample I used Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Folder.

Step 4:

Using a Sanding Block, gently sand embossed images by rubbing the sanding block across the embossing. You will start to see the original color of your cardstock as you sand.

Experiment with different types of paper, paint, and ink, the possibilities are truly endless!
