So this little grouping is completed by following the directions that come with the August kit:
Next up is this cute ensemble using one of the boxes. I did not fold the flap down on the box so that it would stay upright. I cut up one of the card bases and glued it to the box flap and folded the small flap over to glue it down. I then wrapped the ribbon around the whole flap and tied it into a double-knot. I then stamped and glued one of the labels over the ribbon:
So what else did I do to my box? I tied another piece of ribbon around the base of the box. I then took 3 flowers, spritzed them with water and scrunched them to death. I then un-scrunched them (is that even a word?) and added a Silver Mini Brad in the center to stack all three of them together. I then scrunched them back up and played with the flower until I liked the shape. I then let it dry and glued it to the front of the box using Stampin' Dimensionals.
So what does the inside of my box hold? How about some Thin Mints, the ones that come in square wrappers! I purchased them in bulk at Sam's Club. I cut 6 pieces of Pink Pirouette Cardstock each measuring 2" x 4-3/4". Score each piece at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-1/4" and 3-1/2". Stamp the sentiment and wrap the cardstock around each chocolate, adhering the ends by overlapping them!
Now on to Project #2:
It was difficult to capture the fringe on my card. It looks fabulous in real life:
What I did with this card is cut two pieces of the black fringe and layered it on the left-hand side of the card so that both layers show up. I added a piece of the Gold Cording Trim (Holiday Catalog) by wrapping it around the card 3 times and tying off with a bow. The sentiment is stamped 3 times without re-inking. I used the scraps from the flowers to cut 2 small flowers using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and glued them to my tag. I added a Pearl Jewel to the center.
Project #3:
I was quite creative with this next one. When holding a large flower in my hand, the idea of a "pinwheel" came to me. I snipped each petal in half and add a small hole to the same half on each petal with a Paper Piercer. I then brought each petal with the hole towards the center and added a Silver Mini Brad through all 4 layers to create the pinwheel. I then glued another flower to the bottom of the pinwheel. How neat is that?
Now on to Project #4:
To get started on this one you need to add a score line at 1-3/4" from one edge. Now you are going to fold the card in half so that the design is on the inside and then fold on the score line you created so the card fold looks like the photo. To get a better visual you can scroll to photo 2 for this project:
Now we need layers...two of them for each panel. Cut 1 piece of Basic Black measuring 3-1/8" x 4-3/4" and 2 pieces measuring 1-7/16" (sorry for those of you that hate to measure). You will also need 1 piece of Very Vanilla measuring 3" x 4-1/2" and 2 pieces measuring 1-1/4" x 4-1/2". Glue and layer all six panels to your card. Stamp the squiggly image at the top and bottom of the larger piece. Finish the front of the card with the pieces from the kit. This is what the card looks like when opened:
So I had a few tag & label pieces left over and I decided to create a small tag that can be added to a gift. The tag has a small flower that is made like the one on an earlier card and I added a small hole in the corner to add Gold Cording Trim through:
