Every other month I hold a stamping and crafting day for a group of 10 girls. I call the event "Stamp til You Cramp". Isn't that cute? The girls come to my home for the day and bring whatever they want to work on and we also bring potluck food which is always so yummy. I am part of this group as one of them. I don't teach, I just create! I welcome anyone that is part of the group, to take their turn teaching anything they would like. This past month it was Norma's turn. Norma created a card she found on Pinterest and showed us how to create it. This is the card using the Swallowtail and Papillon Potpourri butterfly images:

The cardstock piece measures 4-1/4" x 11" and folded at 5-1/2" in the center. If you keep scrolling down, you'll see how this card looks in the open position and I'll explain how to make one:

Your first step is to open your cardstock piece and lay it flat on your work space. Ink up the Swallowtail image and stamp the whole image partially on the score line. This will create a butterfly that is stamped on the front and back of your card once you fold it.

Once your image is stamped, you will use your Paper Snips to cut around the butterfly image on the right-hand side to create the fancy-looking card edge:

I then stamped the smaller butterfly image from Papillon Potpourri on the inside of the card but peeking through from the outside. I added some Rhinestone Jewels and the sentiment is from the "Best Thoughts" stamp set. This is considered a one layer card and packs a lot of punch because of how you trim around the butterfly!

Thanks Norma for showing the group how to make this card. I'll see you girls again on August 1st!

Thanks for stopping by to visit me today!
