It's time for a brand new Blog Hop from the Control Freaks Stampers! This month we are all about "New Catalog Schtuffs". You may have arrived here from my talented teammate Connie Tumm. If you are starting with me, I will direct you to the next stop on the hop at the bottom of my post.
For my first project I thought I would do a watercolor wash using all 5 of the new In-Colors. I absolutely love all 5 of these colors. My card base is Tip Top Taupe Cardstock followed by Cucumber Crush Cardstock:
First I squished my ink pads in the center and then opened the lid so I would have an ink well of color to use. I used a Spritzer filled with water to wet my Watercolor Paper and then dipped my Aqua Painter brush into the inks and dabbed one color at a time. Once the ink connected with the water, it spread all by itself. I also added ink to my Aqua Painter and flicked it with my finger on the background to add some specks:
I added a Basic Black Cardstock butterfly cut with the new Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Black Ink and the Fabulous Four stamp set. I completed the card by adding Pearl Jewels in the background.
For Card #2 I used the Floral Wings stamp set. I stamped two vases directly on my Whisper White Cardstock along with the flowers and leaves. All three ink colors are new: Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron. The card base is Mint Macaron Cardstock with a second layer of Cucumber Crush Cardstock:
An additional vase and a few flowers were stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White and fussy-cut. I glued them in place using Stampin' Dimensionals and adorned with Rhinestone Jewels.
For my final card, I again used the Floral Wings stamp set along with the hostess set called Best Thoughts. The card base is Delightful Dijon layered with Very Vanilla and Tip Top Taupe:
I stamped the flower in the center of the Tip Top Taupe layer with Tip Top Taupe Ink and added a small strip of Cherry On Top Designer Paper. The butterfly was stamped 3 times, cut and layered with Stampin' Dimensionals for height:
Have I told you yet how much I love the new catalog? I have quite a 'wish list' and will pick away at it! Next in line for our Blog Hop is Justin Kreiger and I can't wait to go visit to see what his wonderful projects are this month!
