We are making sandwiches and filling the cooler for our lunch time picnic in the park!
We will be out the door at 7:15am and getting out to Sisters as quickly as we can to start the most awaited day of the year – the Sister’s Quilt Show!
Last night was really fun---crowded with people, and our table was way in the back.
Some people came on bus tours. Some came from other countries, and of course, all across the USA and Canada.
This sleepy little western town is over run with quilt-excitement and we were ready for our dinner and the lecture!
The lecturers last night were Gwen Marston, Sue Spargo, & Tonye Phillips. It was quite the comical trunk show as they all vied for space at the mic as their quilts were being shown in no particular order.
Does this give you any idea of the crowd that had gathered?
We were THIS FAR BACK ---and the quilts during the lecture were not visible from where we were sitting – not good enough for photos anyway, so I’ll get what I can during the show today.
Our catered dinner was some kind of indian-spiced chikcen that was served over veggies and had a coconut-lime sauce/dip of some source. We had watermelon, rolls and of course:
Dessert plates!
No, this one is not just all for me --- but I can tell you the two best things on it were the lemon bars and the chocolate cookies!
But the best part was reconnecting with THIS GIRL! Here Lori is showing us off her nifty official “Yes I paid for my dinner/lecture ticket” hand stamp!
Time to get my lunch packed and get going --- let’s get to the show!
